Thanks, Cherry High School, for Reminding Us That We Are Insensitive For Applauding America

Jarrett Stepmann writes, “At the rate we are going, saying “good morning” might become offensive.

“The principal of Cherry Hill High School East in New Jersey issued an apology after some students deemed the public school’s prom theme, “Party Like It’s 1776,” to be insensitive.“ I am writing to apologize for the hurt feelings this reference caused for members of our school family,” Dennis Perry wrote Friday in a letter, accordingto the Cherry Hill Courier Post.

“I especially apologize to our African American students, who I have let down by not initially recognizing the inappropriateness of this wording,” he said. The liberal Left continue to push their radical agenda against American values. The good news is there is a solution.

“The principalannounced that tickets would not be needed to get into the prom, a name would suffice, the tickets would be redesigned, and “safeguards” would be laid down in the future to make sure nobody is offended by anything the school does.”

After 242 years of being a nation under the Constitution of the United States, and under 10 previous years of being a nation under the Articles of Confederation, and for some one hundred years prior to that being 13 Colonies under colonial British rule, we’ve decided we’re ashamed of who we are and were for over 352 years.

The very institution we created to teach us reading and writing and arithmetic, and who were to help us understand who we are now teach us shame about who we were and who we are.

Me, I’m sorry we did not create a utopian society, but this has always been a foolish unrealistic dream. Was there anywhere in the world at any time a more perfect union than formed into the United States of America? Never was there a perfect world but we Americans did create a “more” perfect world. Never did any nation declare its people had natural God-given rights that were inherent in every person, not just the ruling class. In fact, they also declared there was no ruling class who had special privileges.

If you do not know history you cannot understand history and not understanding history you cannot possibly intelligently create history. And so we have a high school principle saying he has deemed, “the public school’s prom theme, ‘Party Like It’s 1776,” to be insensitive.’ I am writing to apologize for the hurt feelings this reference caused for members of our school family.” To recognize our history by theming our prom around our founding is “insensitive” causing “hurt feelings.” How sick we have become. We have decided only our sins define us declaring that because of this nothing good can we do or did and if any good is done it is meaningless compared to our sins.

If we knew our history, the unvarnished history, not the rewritten history of progressives, we’d understand that our Founders worried about the minority protecting those from the tyranny of the majority. In some magician’s trick we’ve turned that around into the tyranny of the minority. A few, it seems at this school, was mad about our past and didn’t want anyone to enjoy what the majority was happy about so let’s take away their reason for happiness and make them miserable. What a wonderful life.

We’ve gone back to what the rest of the world never enjoyed. How wise of us.
